Terms of Service

Last updated: April 17, 2026. These terms govern your use of Choordinator, a service operated by Choordinator LLC. By signing up or using the service you agree to them. Questions: support@choordinator.com.

1. The service

Choordinator is a tool for sharing live chord charts during rehearsals, jams, worship services, and performances. We provide it on an as-is basis. We may add features, change them, or retire them. If we make a change that meaningfully degrades the paid product, we'll give subscribers notice and a refund option.

2. Accounts

You need to be at least 13 years old to use Choordinator. You're responsible for keeping your sign-in provider (Google or Apple) secure — if your account there is compromised, your Choordinator account is compromised.

One human, one account. Don't share accounts across a band — use a band workspace with individual member accounts instead.

3. Your content

Chord charts, setlists, annotations, and anything else you upload or create remain your content. We don't claim ownership. We don't resell it. We don't train AI models on it.

You grant us a narrow license to host, process, and display your content strictly as required to run the service for you (for example: sending the current chart to session viewers, running AI-assisted song detection, generating PDF/DOCX imports).

You're responsible for making sure you have the right to upload what you upload. If someone flags your content as infringing, we follow our DMCA policy.

4. Our intellectual property

The Choordinator service — our software, source code, site design, graphics, icons, logos, wordmark, and written copy — is the property of Choordinator LLC and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You can use the service for its intended purpose (leading and joining sessions, organizing charts, and so on), but you may not copy, modify, redistribute, or publicly display the software, graphics, text, or Choordinator logos and wordmark without our prior written consent. Your license to use the service is non-exclusive, non-transferable, and limited to what these terms allow.

5. What you can't do

  • Upload content you don't have rights to
  • Upload sensitive personal data Choordinator isn't built to store — credit card numbers, government IDs, health information, or anything else covered by HIPAA, PCI, or similar regimes. Use Choordinator for chord charts.
  • Harass, threaten, or impersonate others — in session chat, band workspaces, or anywhere else
  • Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download content that isn't yours
  • Reverse-engineer, probe, or attempt to compromise the service
  • Abuse rate limits, create fake accounts at scale, or build derivative services on top of ours without a written agreement
  • Use the service to distribute malware or illegal content

6. Subscriptions and billing

  • Free trial. Choordinator Pro starts with a 14-day free trial on sign-up. No credit card required.
  • Pro plan. $9.99/month after the trial. Billed monthly by Stripe.
  • Cancel any time. Cancel from Settings → Billing. You keep Pro access through the end of the paid period.
  • Refunds. If Pro isn't working for you in the first 30 days, email us for a refund.
  • Free tier. Joining sessions and viewing shared charts is free and always will be. Paid features are for leading sessions and organizing libraries.
  • Price changes. If we change the price, existing subscribers keep their current rate for at least 90 days after notice.

7. Account termination

You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Danger Zone. That removes your data per our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, that have repeatedly had content removed under our DMCA policy, or that we reasonably believe are being used to abuse the service. We'll email you before doing so unless doing so would cause harm.

8. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is." We make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure beyond the commercially reasonable measures we describe in our Privacy Policy. Don't rely on Choordinator as your only copy of a chart — export periodically if it's load-bearing for a gig.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Choordinator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the service — including lost profits, lost data, or lost gigs — even if we've been advised of the possibility. Nothing here is intended to limit liability for claims that can't be limited by law.

10. Indemnification

If someone makes a claim against us because of content you uploaded or something you did on Choordinator — for example, a copyright holder claims your chart infringes their rights, or a third party claims you used the service to harass them — you agree to cover our reasonable legal costs and any damages we're ordered to pay or agree to in a settlement. In exchange: we'll tell you about any such claim promptly, let you participate in the defense, and won't settle without your consent (that consent won't be unreasonably withheld).

11. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that materially affects your rights, we'll email signed-in users and update the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new terms.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. For any dispute that can't be resolved informally, the exclusive venue is the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California.

13. Odds and ends

These terms plus our Privacy Policy and DMCA Policy are the entire agreement between you and Choordinator about the service — they replace any earlier agreements. If any part of them turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don't act on a violation right away, that doesn't mean we've given up the right to act later. You can't transfer your rights under these terms without our written consent; we can transfer ours in the context of a sale or reorganization.
