What's New

Recent features and improvements to Choordinator.

Highlights are transferrable
If the same song is in your personal library and in a band — or in two bands — your highlights don't have to be set up from scratch each time. There's a new "Copy highlights" button on both editors that pulls in any set you've already made: yours, or any of your bands'. And when you add one of your highlighted songs to a band, your highlights come with it as the band's default.

Sign in with just your email
You can now sign in to Choordinator without a Google or Apple account. Enter your email on the sign-in page, tap the link we send you, and you're in. The link is single-use and expires after 24 hours. If you've already signed in with Google or Apple, those still work — and if you switch to email later with the same address, we link the two so it stays one account.

New Pro pricing — and an annual plan
We were able to replace some expensive infrastructure with our own custom tech. Thanks to this upgrade, we are able to offer Pro at a significantly better price. Pro is now $4.99/month or $39.99/year (an effective $3.33/month — save $20 vs. monthly). The 30-day Pro included on every new account is unchanged.
Session viewer limits
Pro sessions now cap at 25 viewers per session — comfortably above any band, jam, or rehearsal we've seen. If you ever hit that cap (worship leaders running large services, big open mics, music camps), there's an upgrade path to a higher-capacity tier for $12.99/month. Most users will never see it.

Shift everyone up or down, mid-session
If the band is playing a song in E but today's singer needs it in F, the session leader can now bump the whole band up or down a semitone at a time. Open Settings and use the new Shift everyone control. It applies on top of each person's own transpose — so a capo player who normally sees the chart down two semitones still sees their preferred shapes relative to the new key. The shift is per-song and lasts only for this session.
Played songs stay where they are in the setlist
Marking a song as played used to move it to a Played section at the bottom of your setlist sheet, which made it easy to lose. Now played songs stay exactly where they were — just dimmed with a strikethrough — so you can still find them and play them again with a tap.

Removed post-session share cards
We've removed the share-card feature — the button that generated a PNG of your session you could post to social. Not enough people used it to justify keeping it in the product, and what we had didn't look as good as it should. Your session history still shows what you played; we just don't generate a shareable card anymore.
Free for your songbook
Your personal library, bulk imports, practice mode, and joining any session as a viewer are now free for everyone — no time limit. Pro is for the moment that costs us money: leading live sessions (broadcasting charts to a band's phones) and creating bands (multi-user libraries). Every new account starts with 30 days of Pro included, and after that you keep everything you built and stay on Choordinator Free.
Frozen bands can be revived without re-subscribing
If you're the sole owner of a band and your Pro subscription ends, the band used to be stuck until you re-upgraded. Now: you can still promote a member to co-owner from the members list, even while on Free. That new co-owner can upgrade their own account to revive the band. The band's content stays intact the whole time.
Cleaner landing page
New sticky top bar with the Get Choordinator free button always visible, simplified hero with the CTAs above the demo video, and tighter pricing cards reflecting the new Free-vs-Pro split.

May 13, 2026

Landing-page redesign — demo-first hero
The homepage hero now shows the live-sync video right between the headline and the primary sign-up button, instead of off to the side. The whole page is a single column now — same on phone and desktop — so the demo is the first thing you see after the headline. Pricing details moved from under the button down to the pricing section.

Your transpose key now sticks, even without an account
Free viewers who join sessions on the same device — the regulars at the Tuesday jam, the singer who always wants charts in E♭ — used to have to set their transpose every single time. Not anymore. Your phone now remembers each chart's key and font size for you per-device, no account required. Pro users with accounts already had this saved across all their devices via their library; we extended the same comfort to anyone joining a session.

Cleaner first impression for jam walk-ins
The foot-pedal question no longer shows to signed-out viewers joining a session via a code. It'll ask you once after you sign in, same as before — 99% of walk-ins don't own a pedal, and it's a weird hardware question for a first impression.
Better-looking share cards and link previews
Post-session share cards now render server-side with our real fonts (Fraunces for the big number, DM Sans for the body) instead of whatever the phone had loaded that second. Shared chord chart links (the “/s/…” URLs) also get a proper link preview in iMessage and Slack — title, artist, and a peek at the first few chord lines, instead of a blank card.

April 17, 2026

Legal pages finalized
Privacy, terms, and DMCA pages are now the official versions (previously marked as drafts). Terms now spell out that Choordinator's software, graphics, logos, and wordmark are our own intellectual property — your chord charts and setlists still belong to you, unchanged.

Share what you played
Every session gets a shareable card — song count, band name, date, and the song you closed with. One tap on the session history page or at the end of a live session sends it through your phone's native share sheet, or saves it as a PNG. Single-song sessions reframe as “Kicked off with {title}” so the song becomes the hero, not the number.
Founding users — Pro free, forever
If you signed up before the public launch, you now have a lifetime Pro entitlement. No credit card, no expiry, no fine print. Thanks for showing up early.
One song and you're ready to jam
The onboarding wizard now gets you to a live session after a single song, not three. The welcome step echoes the landing tagline (“The whole room, same chart”), names the viewer-free hook, and the “Paste a song” card leads with the magic moment — we'll detect the title and artist for you.
Landing page reads cleanly on iPad
Phones in the hero now stack vertically on iPad and tablet widths so the chord-chart previews are readable instead of squeezed into a 160-pixel split column. Mobile and desktop unchanged.
We watch the lights
A health check now pings production every 10 minutes. If anything goes sideways with the database, session cache, or the app itself, we hear about it before you do. Just here so you know.

April 15, 2026

Send feedback without signing in
The /feedback page now accepts submissions from anyone — no account required. Pick what you were trying to do, write what's on your mind, leave an email if you want a reply, send. We read every one.
Privacy, terms, and DMCA pages
Plain-language legal pages with the actual list of sub-processors, what each one sees, how long we keep your data, and how to delete it. Linked from Settings and the sign-in page.

First-time viewers know the app is working
When you join a session before the leader picks a song, you now see a live status indicator, a sentence explaining what's about to happen, and the session code in big friendly type — not a one-line "waiting" message.
Post-session sign-in prompt
Anonymous viewers get a respectful one-tap sign-in bottom sheet after the leader ends the session, never mid-song. "Maybe later" dismisses it and remembers for that session.
Smoother songbook import from onboarding
Starting a welcome-wizard import no longer strands you on the import page when you're done — you're returned to the wizard with a count of what you imported and a "Start a session" CTA ready to go. The onboarding copy now names the use case honestly: "Import your library."

April 13, 2026

Graceful reconnection
If your connection drops mid-session, a banner shows while we reconnect — and you automatically catch up to the leader's current song and scroll position.
Paste a chart mid-session
Leaders can paste a new chord chart from inside the Songs sheet. It saves to your library and shows up on everyone's screen instantly.
Song request badge for leaders
When viewers request a song, leaders see an amber badge on the Songs button with the request count — and the requests are displayed prominently at the top of the Songs sheet.
Guided chart creation
New Chart page now has one-tap section buttons ([Intro], [Verse], [Chorus], [Bridge], [Outro]), an example skeleton for empty charts, and flags unrecognized chords so you can catch typos before saving.
Foot pedal setup wizard
First-time users see a one-time prompt asking if they use a Bluetooth pedal, with arrow-key mode tips.
iPad pedal support
Arrow-key pedals now work on iPad without needing fullscreen mode. Just tap anywhere to activate.
Viewer pedal scrolling
Viewers can use their own pedal to scroll independently from the leader.
